  We stayed at Amaya Lake for 2 nights. We loved that wonderful setting with a feeling in a middle of a jungle. There were few things, you may let down. Friendly staff, food and the location will pull you up again. Worm welcome at the spacious lobby and the front desk attend quickly on our arrival. Some of the rooms located far away from the lobby, and they provide buggy anytime you want. Room was cleaned and well arranged. However, Amaya Lake does not have central AC and the split type in the room was too noisy and a very old one. Asked for a king size bed and they put up two single beds together. Bathroom was clean, but the shower cubical not spacious enough. Restaurant busy on that way with a company trip, hotel badly needs a better arrangement in such a situation. However, you can ask them to arrange a table on pool side. The buffest was quite well in terms of selections. Friendly staff and helpful. There is no WiFi in the room, only at the lobby and the bar. Overall it was a pleasant stay at Amaya.

  Una buona struttura, cucina discreta, unico neo manca illuminazione, in certe stanze senza l'aiuto della luce non si riesce neanche ad aprire la camera. Immerso nella natura dove regnano pace e serenità.

  What is not to love? Great service, lovely grounds, incredible sunrises (worth getting up for), amazing birds, lovely rooms, great food! We stayed in the Signature suites, and it was pure heaven. We almost always had the Signature pool to ourselves and the restaurant was terrific. Worth trying is a G&T made with the local gin, and local tonic. Dee-lish!

  The rooms aren't bad, except running out of hot water after using the shower for 60 seconds (every time). What let this hotel down was the quality and price of the food. One day we were in the pool, and a man from the restaurant comes over with 3 lobsters trying to promote the restaurant. We asked why they were already dead as you shouldn't kill them until you were ready to eat them. No answer. Then we asked why they weren't on ice at the very least. No answer. Food poisoning waiting to happen! If you do stay here, don't pay $30+ for a "fresh" (frozen) chicken breast or $40 for a 3 day old lobster that will ruin the rest of your holiday. Get to the local town and grab food there (that's what we did everyday after our first day mistake of eating in the restaurant)!

  This place is amazing, the only issue we had was with the competence of some of the staff. When we arrived, the setting relaxed us. After checking in we were taken by a buggy to our room. Hearing the birds is amazing, though watching a monkey steal a pineapple was better! Set in the wilderness, we were surrounded by nature, and while the gecko that was in our room did not freak out my son, the cricket that jumped into our room did! The service is with a smile, but our issues came about when the staff did not provide an extra bed for our son despite being asked three times, and when they did eventually (it took my wife shouting at the manager to sort this out), it was without a pillow. Also our bath was dirty, not filthy, but not as clean as a room should be. Saying that, I would still return as this is a fabulous place.
