  The best dining experience we had in Sri Lanka. Cyril, our service man, was extremely helpful. We were a little apprehensive getting there on our scooter (Google is showing you the right way, have faith). I tried the pork and mushroom stroganoff while my girl friend had their special vegetarian curry. Both were excellent. We ended our meal with the lime cheese cake. Again just excellent (worth visiting for the dessert alone). The place is on hikkaduwa lake, though we had no view of this as we went for dinner on a stormy night. Must visit!!

  Can highly recomend this place, very good service and nice people working here and nice to live a little bit away from the highroad and beachlife.

  We went there for a lunch/dinner and it was fabulous. As they keep just fresh ingridients, they went for pumpkin on our special request. We had chicken, pumpkin and cashew nuts curry, burger and excellent lime cheescake. It is a bit off the beaten track, BUT WELL WORTH IT!! Staff is great! Go there!

  We were told that to have a 'proper' Sri Lankan Curry Lunch at 'Asian Jewel", we had to order it a day in advance.... so we did just that - booking a Special Prawn Curry yesterday. Arriving today at this beautifully-sited boutique hotel and restaurant overlooking the great lagoon and jungle near Hikkaduwa, we were served an outstanding meal, stylishly presented, full of remarkable flavours; each mouthful tasting better than the first - a serendipitous symphony of flavours that burst upon the palate with unexpected but delightful after-tastes, and obviously cooked with much love and care. This was the best and most delicious traditional Sri Lankan Lunch I have ever eaten, despite having travelled extensively over the island for many years and tasted dozens ... And to cap it all, they have a 1950s Juke-Box that plays 'Retro" music, if desired, and a snooker table too. The charming waiter showed me the guest bedrooms upstairs, which were very well-appointed with carved wardrobes and four-poster beds. The views from three bedroom balconies to the lagoon and swimming pool were lovely. A real gem...Highly recommended.

  Restaurant review only: we went here a few times and found it to be the best restaurant in the area. Beautiful curries and local cuisine. You need to order the curry platter (see pic) at least two hours ahead but very worth it. Very affordable too
