  This is one of the most ancient temples in Sri Lanka. There is a belief that the tooth relic of Lord Buddha was hidden here for some period of time to save from portuguese. Annually, they conduct a Dalada Perahara (Miniature Kandy Perahara) function since 1933 with the massive support of villagers.This temple has a proud history.
