  Could see improvements than earlier. Good place to spend a day with kids n family. You can have meals inside. There are taps at many locations. Beware of forcing street businessmen outside at the entrance.

  Nice location. Lot of trees around so you don't feel much hot. Well maintained. A lot of animal species. Enjoyed very much with the kids.

  I visited the Dehiwala zoological Gardens for the second time in my lifetime on 7th April 2018, my first time being about 25 years ago. I just want to say I fell in love with the place. There is a great variety of animals to see and they are looked after well. There's so much space even for large crowds and just about anywhere you can sit, observe and enjoy the beauty and uniqueness all around. No need to carry baggage. It's clean everywhere and so many well kept hygienic food outlets to purchase from and very good sanitary facilities. Things are so well organized. Important suggestion! Visitors should be strictly adviced not to bother the animals and also importantly that no animal should be kept alone but to have one or two more of that species brought in for them so that it will be more bearable for them to be away from their natural environment. The details I had got said we might spend about 2 hours there. We took 4 hours and when it was time to leave felt it still wasn't enough. Thanks for this lovely and knowledgeable experience. Since the ticket amount for locals is so low, please let the general public know how more we can help. Great work team of Dehiwala Zoological Gardens!

  Good place. But should make more accessible to wheel chair. And move direction signs could be better. Staff should be trained more in sales. (At the end of the round we came to know about availability of buggies. If we were told at entrance about that service we would have taken it).

  First off, the last time I visited the zoo was 2011 or so and I thoroughly regret it. This place needs to stop. It needs to be shut down and all the animals need to be taken care of properly. I highly recommend NOT going here. Especially if you're a tourist because Colombo has many great things to offer and this place is definitely not one of them!!
