  Dotel oya estate is having rich natural landscape and pleasing weather condition. Some streams feeding Gurugoda oya (Branch stream of Kelani River) is starting from this estate and this estate is owned by Richard Pieris & Company PLC. "Dotel Oya is located in the Dolosbage hills, the tract of about 400 km2 between Kegalle, Yatiyantota, Nawalapitiya and Gampola. Land use in and around Dotel Oya Estate is highly varied, including: monoculture tea; forest plantations; oldgrowth natural forest (areas under permanent forest cover) in the form of lowland and submontane/montane rain-forest; and re-growth forest (forest regenerating on previously cultivated land)."
