  Gamagedara Resort is super close to the bus stop from Kandy and a bit off the main road, so you don't hear any noise and can fully enjoy your relaxed stay. The owner was extremely friendly and welcomed us with a delicious cup of tea. The next day, after a nice breakfast, he organized a tuktuk driver to take us to Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Rock Temple. He even offered to take us to the bus station with the tuktuk and when he saw that our bus was already leaving, he stopped the bus for us with his little tuktuk! On top of being the Sri Lankan version of Indiana Jones, we had quite a few nice and interesting conversations with the owner of the resort :-) There is no hot water in the economy rooms though.

  Owner seems to be nice guy. Room was ok, but bed was not so comfortable - I did not like their pillows at all ...like a bag of sth old. There was NO hot water. Breakfast was ok - same as almost everywhere.

  Worst experience ever. We have took room with hot water and AC here. The room itself was old and not well cleaned. The smell inside was really bad like something died in there. They used water with soap sprayed all over the room to cover it, but it didn't helped... But it wasn't the worst thing... when we have checked in the owner cheated us there is hot water in the room. There is NO hot water which we have found out in late evening when we came back to room and wanted to take hot shower. That was not the only lie we got from him. When we arrived I ask him what is the best way to get Rock Cave and he said that we won't be able to get there and we should go with him for expensive safari... We have visited all we wanted without any problems. But the worst thing happened in the morning. When it came to the payment he disappeared and we got a bill for two times more than we should pay from his worker who doesn't speak English. I called the owner to tell him that we won't pay this amount. After argue over the phone he blamed everything on his worker and hung up?!? To compensate the bad impression owner should apologize and give us a huge discount... instead he tried to cheat us on money?!?

  The manager was really nice and caring. We had both breakfast and dinner there and it was very great. The terrasse is quiet and relaxing (but be prepared because there are a looooot of mosquitos). The room is simple but confortable enough. The wifi doesnt work well though.

  Not bad but a little too expensive for the quality. 35$ for a small room and if you want a/c you will pay another 13$. Dinner and breakfast were good, just je careful what they offer. Things like beer are not included in dinner price and you hlavě to pay almost the same price as for the whole dinner.
