  Memorial statue erected in honour of Lieutenant General Parami Kulatunga, former deputy Chief of Staff, who was assassiated by terrorists in 2006 in Pannipitiya. He was the 3rd highest ranking Sri Lanka Army officer at the time of his death. A Memorial Dedication service for Lt. Gen. Kulatunga was held at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on October 11, 2006. (Source: Wikipedia)
