::This small guest house is run by Manjarie and her husband Mahinda. There are four rooms in a separate building over the yard from Manjarie and Mahinda's home. In the communal area there is a gas hob, worktop, sink, fridge. The house is secure with a padlocked gate for guests to use. We visited as elective students studying at the nearby maternity hospital. Whilst the rooms are small and basic, the communal area is spacious and the guest house is very homely. Manjarie and Mahinda are friendly and welcoming and happy to help out with tips as to places to eat locally, places to visit on weekends - etc. Before we arrived, Manjarie was quick to respond to emails. Mahinda is a doctor and professor at the medical school, and for elective students, he is an invaluable source of guidance as to where to go when, and what to expect. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I'd recommend Apex Beat to elective students in particular. The room rates are also very reasonable!

::The family at this beautiful and quiet spot run four guest rooms in a separate building on their property. The rooms have a bathroom attached and the kitchen area is shared living space between the guests. We spent 8 weeks at this place, because we were working in the Karapitiya Hospital. The atmosphere was relaxed, away from the hurries and tourists from the city center, yet close to the city and hospital. We shared the pretty green back yard and some evenings together with our host family. Planted flowers, coconut palm and papaya trees are growing and colorful birds and monkeys are sometimes visiting the tree tops. Especially the personal relationship and conversations made our time in Galle and Sri Lanka so special and great!
