  We booked our accommodation through Expedia for this hostel. Upon arrival the two "managers" let us know that they had no booking and tried to move us next door to another place. This place looked like it had recently been used in a low budget porn movie, and after refusing the room they conveniently found us a room at Lavinia House. Room was average (filled with mosquitos and girlfriend got bed bugs), however it was when we tried to leave when things got disgusting. The owner of the property wouldn't let us leave until I paid him in cash, else wise he would call the police. This was after I had showed him my confirmation of payment to Expedia and then he was verbally abusive to both my girlfriend and I. He said that Expedia will provide a refund as this has happened several times in the past (they haven't done anything as yet). I questioned why he didn't fix the problem with Expedia so it doesn't continually happen and then he verbally abused me for questioning his lack business management skills. So I have now paid twice for the same accommodation as Expedia are as useless as the owner of the Lavinia House. Go down the road and see Priyani at the Mount Lavinia Homestay. It's a bit smaller but Priyani is lovely, and they have a pet tortoise. If this post stops one person staying here then I am OK with losing the money. Happy travelling :-)

  Пожалуй самое лучшее место из недорогих с кухней в Маунт Лавинии, отель после ремонта, все чисто, никаких проблем - ответ хозяина на все вопросы, очень свободно и приятно, гостиная с 4 зонами отдыха, горячая вода, пляж рядом. Всем рекомендуем!! Только сюда.

  We made a reservation on booking for 2 rooms and specifically mentioned in the notes that we would be arriving late. When we got there around 1 am, the property was locked and nobody was there to answer the door. The phone number that we got off the Internet was disconnected. We were very tired and frustrated after a long drive, and there was no one to help us. We waited outside for a while, tried to ring the bell and knock on the gates. Finally we saw some movement inside. Some hotel guests staying there came to the gate but also could not help us get inside. It was thoroughly locked and even they were locked in. The owner was no where to be found. They gave us another number to call, and still no answer. After some time of fruitless trying, we left. We had to find another room in the middle of the night. When I called that guy next morning, he answered the phone and was very short with me. He said he did not receive any reservations, even though I had booking confirmation. He said the hotel was fully booked and he did not know how we had managed to make a reservation. He was not trying to offer any help or resolution about the whole situation, and basically blew me off. Not coming back to that place ever again.

  Отличный гест-хаус за небольшие деньги. Очень порадовало расположение, всё в пешей доступности. В нескольких минутах хотьбы пляж, кафе и ж/д станция, что очень удобно для путешествий по острову. По приезду нас встретил владелец Невил, очень приятный молодой человек, быстро выдал ключ, показал весь дом и сказал, что если у возникнут вопросы он с радостью поможет. Перед бронированием искали отзывы, но все они были сделаны очень давно при прежних владельцах. Новые владельцы сделали из старого ужасного отеля, райское местечко с уютными чистыми номерами, хорошей сантехникой, постельное белье новое, матрасы очень удобные. Удивил интерьер дома, Невил рассказал, что при обустройстве они использовали много антиквариата. Вечером нам очень нравилось собираться в гостиной, она стала нашим любимым местом. Плюсы: хорошее расположение, чистые номера, сервис, наличие экскурсионного бюро, низкая цена, wi-fi Минусы: мы не нашли, все понравилось
