  Located 23km east of Unawatuna Bay Beach, located in the fishing town of Weligama. This is a broad and beautiful bay with a fine golden beach. This may be a quiet beach but it is very attractive. The most prominent feature at the bay is Taprobane Island, also known as She-devil’s island. Swimmers can easily get to this island. Snorkelling and scuba diving is popular in this area of Sri Lanka.

  Huge beach. Several km for sure. Smooth sand. Probably all of it beginner surfable. Certainly in the surroundings of Marriot hotel. And waves all day long. Early morning to late night. At least certainly it is so in March. Full of surfers but not overcrowded. Sunbathers - not crowded at all. Tourists nice tidy and polite, mostly Russian but also some from the rest of Europe. Did not meet any from any other continents.

  Amazing sunset. Best place to learn surf. Amazing waves for surf beginners. Many local surfing schools along the beach. Surf board rental available everywhere in the beach.
