  වෙසෙසින්ම තුරුණු සිත් සදහම් ඇසුරට යොමු කරවන පින් බිමක් ලෙස මහමෙව්නා අසපුව හැඳින්විය හැකිය . විශාල වශයෙන් උපාසක උපාසිකාවන් එක්වන බොදු මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් වන මෙය වරාපිටිය හන්දියේ සිට මහවත්ත පාරේ ටිකදුරක් පැමිණ ළඟා විය හැකිය . භාවනා අසපුවක් වූවද ඉතා අනර්ඝ කැටයම් සහිතව ඉදිකරනු ලද මේ ස්තානය විටෙක බුදුරදුන් ඉතා අගය කල සරල බවින් මිදීදෝ සිතේ. එනමුත් අනුරාධපුර පොලොන්නරු යුගයන්හි පවා අනර්ඝ ලෙස ආරාම කරවූ බවට සාක්ෂි පවතින නිසා මෙහි වරදක් කිව හැකිද?
