  This roundabout named due the tree which was existed in this junction called arasa maram(bodhi or bo tree) . There are 4 roads meet here. One is heading to kallady.same road is also used to travel south eastern coastal areas ( Ulla beach kumana/ yala park/uganthai beach and arugambay beach etc). Second road is heading to amirthakaly/ palaminmadu and popular light house located in palaminmadu and famous mamangam Hindu temple.this road is called bar road(popular during British colonial era). Third road is heading to batticaloa commercial and urban area where most of the important schools and government offices located. This road also heading to the junction Trincomalee road junction which is around 300m away from this juction.the fourth road is heading to station road which heading to railway station of batticaloa.

  It's a clock tower built in Arasady junction. It looks beautiful and works well. It is maintained very well by the builders.
