  This Pillayar temple is located about 50m from my sweet home "Mathy Illam". About 40 years ago, the temple used to hold annual velvi and Naddu Koothu cultural event. Temple did not have electricity supply that time, hence Mathy Illam used to provide electricity supply to the Koothu show with the help of electrician "Thamby Anna". We used to offer Pillaiyar his favourite food "Mothagam" every year with the help of my mum's mates and assistants Kundumani Akka and Theivanai Akka until 1976. The play ground next to the Kovil is our main cricket field. Remember that we used to play with hand made timber bats. Sweet memories come to my mind. This photo was taken in December 2015 when I visited Selvathy Akka who lives nearby. Mathy Illam changed hands in mid 2000.
