  If you climb to the top you can have nice view of colombo kandy road, kadugannawa railway etc. please be careful when you climb it.

  The dawson tower is located on kadugannawa in the kadugannawa pass next to the colombo-kandy road. This tower is named in memory of captain dawson who got the task to build the kandy-colombo road😀😀 The watcher will let you climb the tower if the weather is good. Climbing the wooden spiral staircase is a rare experience. You have to be careful because the staircase is very dark and you could easily get your feet injured. It’s ok to feel dizzy because of the spiral staircase. You can have a good view of the kadugannawa town and the railway station on top of the tower. You can also see the road and railway runs on the land level till the end. 👍👍

  CONSIDERED as a Historical monument. Yet debated over and over again that it's done for everyone to remember Kadugannawa for this tower so they won't forget about Kadugannawa war. This tower has 130 steps to the top and very small space inside to climb the stairs. Though outside kept very clean inside is not so. Be careful with little kids since guard fence is not very safe as kids can creep through. Built in 1835 seemingly around a timber pole and attached steps using brick work. Closes at 4PM in weekdays
