::Like the other Cargills, it is clean and well organized with a very helpful staff in the aisles. The staff in the counter need more training with the billing system, especially with products that have discounts on multiple purchases. As Indians, and looking nothing different from the locals, we were victims of racism at the entrance, where we were forced to leave our shoulder bag (with our passports, currency and other valuables) with the security, while the same guy was allowing western and oriental tourists to carry theirs. This happened during both our visits on March 17 & 18. If you have a policy, let it please be enforced uniformly to all your customers and not just to people of color. This was not the case in the Cargills Food City in Kandy (Dalada Veediya) where we didn't face any such issues.

::Clean and good shopping experience. Good prices, I guess, but I can't really compare it to other stores or markets in Mirissa. They have a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables that tourists probably don't need to shop for. However, they also sell sunscreen, snacks and cosmetic products. Staff at the checkout is sometimes painfully slow at scanning the items, but that might also have to do that almost always one of the barcodes is causing problems. They even have good deals on Sri Lankan products, so if you want to bring home Ceylon tea for all your friends, it's probably also good place to buy that.
