  I was thinking about rating this place normally, because it's nice and the neighbourhood as well, but after receiving a really rude message from Christopher, I can't rate this place higher than one star... He offered me airport pick-up and said I could arrange something myself as well and his houseman would give my tuktuk drive directions. I decided to go for the last option, because after a long trip (30 hours...) I feel like needing some time for myself most of the time and don't want to hurry, so I thought: then I'm more flexible. I met some people at the airport who said I could get a tuktuk for 600-700 for the distance, so if I got the opportunity to pay less, why not? I'm backpacking for 4 months... I showed my driver the place on Google Maps and he knew it, but then last-minute the driver changed and that one had no idea where to go to so called Christopher for about 10 times, which really made me feel bad and guilty, because this wasn't my intention at all. When I arrived Christopher was really pissed off, which I totally understood, but he said 'So, you saved 1.5 euros...' I think he totally misjudged me. The next morning I mistaken by checkout time, I thought it was twelve (we didn't speak, so I didn't know), but he said it was okay, which I really appreciated. When I got my stuff out of the room, he offered me a tuktuk to the busstation, but I said I was thinking about staying one more night in Negombo. He looked to me in a very cold way, and said: 'Not here.' (that wasn't even my intention...) Today I saw he sent me a long email with this in it: 'You are a foolish obstinate young woman who thinks that she always knows better than everyone else; better than a local resident of 20 years. ' How can you say that to people?! So, you can see: my experience was really bad. I think it was this occasion and reading other reviews normally it's totally fine, but if you say this to people... What can I say? It's just not nice.

  A very nice place to start or end your visit to Sri Lanka. Negambo is 15 min drive from the airport. This nice home stay is clean and comfortable and has a character. The host is an Englishman with good knowledge of the nice places to visit and has many local friends. A great value for money too

  Rustic holiday vacation in exotic location. Beautiful. Charming village stay with fabulous host and great hospitality. With wonderful and warm beaches nearby and a cozy home stay at a the best value. I'd can't wait to go back.
