::FYI Do NOT go to a meditation course called Vipassana in Kosgama, Sri Lanka. It is meditation in name only. The people there do not know how to do Vipassana. There is no teacher. The 'leaders' babysit practitioners with video tapes that are freely available anyway on Youtube. That 'meditation' was a waste of time. Many people left after 2 days including myself. Plus, at least if you are a woman, there's a lot of meanness for a 'silent' retreat that I totally did not need!

::I would this its totally run for donations given by old students . The facility is caters for peaceful mediation . The lodging to foods is free . The teachers give you guidance to understand Vipassana mediation . The technique is taught step by step . I would say great way to spend your vacation .
