  This Railway Bridge used by the local residents as a shortcut to Uda Peradeniya and the university. Among the university students and other residents this bridge is known as “Yaka Palama� [Devil Bridge]. Kandy -Colombo railway path is laid over Mahavalli River, the longest river in Sri Lanka at this place.

  Those who can walk on this bridge must have strong guts, because one thing is you have to survive if a train come when you middle on the bridge and another thing is you don't be afraid to heights. Thats why its called as devil's bridge
