::Lovely and quiet place to stay _ the review from Nava K below does not relate to the Kurundu Villa in Ahangama as it is not on the beach and does not cater to group - Probably a mistake.

::To Kurundu Villa Koggala for a night’s stay, inclusive of dinner and buffet breakfast the next morning. The villa packed with mostly foreign tourists, when I checked into my room, it was rather a mess – thick layer of sand all over the bathroom and the sink clogged up badly. Effort to request for a change of room couldn’t be accommodated as the hotel was fully booked, I suppose I had no other choice. Having said that, the villa by itself facing the beautiful beach was akin a hidden gem - awesomeness, lazing at the bench by the seashore to let your mind wonder for the longest time by practically doing nothing.

::Definitely a 6-star experience! My experience at Kurundu Villa was wonderful. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with cold towels infused with the pleasant aroma of cinnamon and spices- an invigorating refreshment after my journey from Singapore. The villa manager and staff greeted us with smiles and promptly whisked our luggage to our respective rooms, leaving us relaxed and assured of a pampered stay ahead. What I enjoyed the most were: 1) The private swimming pool. I swam in the mornings and evenings under the clear blue skies, with the sounds of Mother Nature all around me. The infinity pool overlooks a padi (rice) field, and occasionally, a herd of buffaloes with its farmer would graze by, accompanied by egrets, peacocks and if you're lucky, some amazing species of colourful birds that never fail to leave me awed. 2) The untainted view of nature. Every day, I never failed to lounge by the pool or at the porch of the villa, book in one hand and a drink in another. With the cool breeze blowing in the serenity of the villa, my entire being just relaxes and I could sit there for hours on end! 3) The friendly and accommodating staff. Every morning's breakfast was a delight, encompassing fresh and delicious local fruits, toast, freshly squeezed or blended juices, coffee or tea, and my favourite curd with treacle. By day, housekeeping was promptly executed, and by night, we either chatted at the mini bar over a drink or two, or receded to the comfort of the living area. Kurundu Villa was definitely a home away from home. With the accessibility of free Wi-Fi, I could stay connected with my family back home too. The kitchenette would be a luxury for guests who wish to whip up simple meals to satisfy their cravings. Definitely recommended!:)

::Kurundu villa is a paradise on earth , The place is beautifully decorated and incredibly peaceful , once there , we feel transported out of time , just want to stay under the veranda and enjoy watching in any directions, the cinnamon plantation , the paddy field , the birds , ... Magnificent hospitality and attention to detail from Sandrew and staff that always comes with a true smile , Watching Mouni ( who is 60+ but looks 40) climb bare foot the coconut tree to catch some fruit is an amazing experience, we’ll be back soon ...
