  Host is extremely friendly and has excellent knowledge about local sights. He took us to the local harbour to see the fisherman's catch of the day! His family is very courteous. Good stay for couples. Totally recommend it!

  We stayed here for three nights and get very welcome by the whole family living in the front house. It turned out that Mahindasiri actually knew just about everyone in Mirissa which made it very easy to get around and back to the room. The location is a quick stroll away from the center of town and the pleasant Mirissa Beach, but getting there and back is usually only a short tuktuk ride away which shouldn't cost you more than 100-300 SRL depending on where you pick your ride. It's worth noting though that some of the pictures of the view from the balconies are slightly outdated, and when we arrived we found that someone is now constructing a new hotel between the balconies and the ocean. This left us with a huge dark tarp covering the current construction just inches from our balcony. The private beach unfortunately also leaves something to be desired. It's only a minute away from the front gate, and there​ is a slight sand bank between the rocks and the ocean. However the sunbeds are not on the sand but rather up above the rocks. And the property around could need a decent clearing up. It looked like there might be some planned changes here, but it was not somewhere we spent Yl any time during our stay. Our room did however have a working air conditioning which allowed us some slightly more child nights than we had otherwise experienced in Sri Lanka. The bed was also super comfy and spacious enough even for me at 197cm, which in an of itself is a huge plus. If you are staying in Mirissa we would definitely recommend checking the availability here, but don't plan on spending the evening enjoying the view from the balcony.
