  One of the most religious and most attractive temple in Matale. Actually in Matale- Dambulla Road (4-5km away from Matale Town) Most of Buddhist tourists never forget to come here. Nice view when reach the top and its so calm when there are no crowd. Otherwise it will be lil bit different to spend some time there. There is an ancient library also

  This temple is very special and historical, it’s on Kandy - Jaffna A9 road, about 2KM from Matale town, there are lot devotees from all over the country side, this temple also got some beautiful nature views, there are parking space available,

  Derived from the Sinhala word ‘Aloka Viharaya’ giving the meaning as ‘Lighted Temple’, Alu Viharaya/Aluwihare Cave Temple is a monument in Matale district and is of critical importance to Buddhists in Sri Lanka. Thripitakaya which contains the doctrine of Lord Buddha was committed to written in this place. The contents were passed from generation to another by word of mouth until then.

  Historical place "Thipitaka" wrote on this temple on king "walagamba" place in near mathale town. Nice to see and good knowledge point for who study on sri lankan history if ur love history visit this place dont miss this
