::it was Established in 1927, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has come a long way to become Sri Lanka’s largest tertiary care institution caring for the patients with mental illness. The Mental Hospital (Teaching),Angoda was upgraded to a National Institute in October 2008. Half Way Home, Mulleriyawa(HWHM) and the School of Nursing, Mulleriyawa are also under the administration of NIMH since 2008.
