  Most Peaceful and mind relaxing Buddhist temple situated in top of the mountain of Nelligala. Nelligala is a very beautiful and largest rock surrounded by mountains located in Kandy. half and hour drive from Kandy City Center

  Very beautiful temple. Looks like a foreign temple. Very clean and interesting place to visit. There are huge pagodas sitting on the land. Gajamuthu and many more valuable thigs are there. Go and seem them.

  Most Peaceful, peaceful, mind relaxing amazing Buddhist temple situated in top of the mountain Nelligala. Nelligala is a very beautiful and largest rock surrounded by mountains located in Kandy (Muruthalawa). Regardless of which religion you believe in, I will recommend that you religiously or none religiously visit the Nelligala International Buddhist Temple if you happen to Come to Sri Lanka, you'll find this place full of beauty. I find this place to be very peaceful to the body and to the soul. There is large free parking area. You can drive in a good conditioned road till top of the mountain. The day time will be very hot but the wind will make you cool too. We went in the early morning about 5.30 am. It was very cool. One of the best to visit in Kandy. ශ්‍රී ලාංකික බෞද්ධයන්ගේ මුදුන් මල්කඩ ලෙස සැලකෙන ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාව පිහිටි සෙන්කඩගල පුරවරය ආසන්නයේ පිහිටා ඇති නෙල්ලිගල ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ මද්ධ්‍යස්ථානය සිංහල බෞද්ධයන් වන අප සියල්ලම සතුටු සිතින් වැදපුදා ගත යුතුම උතුම් ස්ථානයකි. ඉතාමත් අලංකාර වටපිටාව පිහිටා ඇති, වන්දනාකරන්නන්ගේ සිත් එකසැනින් දම් සිසිලෙන් මුසපත් කරන්නට සමත්, අතිරමණීය විහාරස්ථානයකි. තවද සර්වඥ ධාතුන් වහන්සේලා සියසින් දැක ගැනීමට හා වැදපුදා ගැනීමට එහිදී හැකිය.

  Access road was well built and maintained, still some construction 🚧 underway. Better to visit in the morning or late evening coz during daytime it is very hot there only wind 🍃 will help you to ease the temperature. Bird eye view of the vicinity from the top and ample parking space for devotees.

  Newly built temple (2015). Somewhat close to mahayana traditions. Amazing 360° view can be seen from here. The road is under construction (2018). But will be completed in next few weeks. 2018.02.21
