::We wanted to go to Sigiriya but it was already kind of late, so we made it here just in time for the sunset. It turned out to be a perfect choice, it was just as beautiful but not crowded and way cheaper. It's an easy 15 min hike. You need to climb a few rocks in the final part but nothing too crazy.

::Went up at 5:30AM for the sunrise. Decided not to do the Lion rock. Best decision ever. There were just a couple of people up there and it was only 500RS compared to USD30 that they want to climb the infinitely more crowded other rock (I appreciate personal space).

::Sunset or sunrise is the best time to hike. Always wear your shoes. You can find a local guide if you want. August and September are the best season to hike. Don't make loud noises and don't even think about to disturb the wasps...!!!
