::30 miles off Colombo the commercial capital of Sri Lanka lies the len vihara (cave temple) Pilikuththuwa Raja Maha Viharaya, atop a mountain frontier. It is off Yakkala on the Colombo-Kandy highway. The len Viharaya lies in the upper maluwa (higher terrace), just going past the two giant Bodhiyas(Bodhi trees) looming over the premises.

::One of ancient cave temple. Nothing to see much in the temple because thieves have taken a lot of treasures from there. only some old paintings, a pond and few other newly built things can be seen. But it is a beautiful place. There is a rock behind the temple to which you can climb and that is worth thw trip. Can capture many images with nice backgrounds. But cannot make much noice because police is coming now and then as the temple is targeted by treasure thieves. If you go a bit downwards the road, you may find a place to have a bath but it gets dried during off-rain season (it was so when i went). A bit tiresome but a nice trip. Better to go before sun rises much 😊😊
