::What a lovely place with extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. We enjoyed our stay every minute, the food was great, and their "little garden" full of spices and fruit left a lasting impression. One thing to notice though: the train line is very close by, and the first trains pass by very early in the morning, so if non-interrupted sleep is a priority, you might want to bring ear plugs. We're happy we've visited this lovely place and hope we can come back one day!

::Plantation Retreat is tucked away in Kandy, just 400 m from Patanpaha Bus Stand. It welcomes guests with an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi access. Well-appointed rooms are cooled with air conditioning. Rooms feature typical Sri Lankan-style décor. Amenities include a wardrobe and a TV with some rooms. There is also an en suite bathroom featuring hot-water showers and free toiletries. At Plantation Retreat, you will find a peaceful garden and barbeque facilities. Other facilities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. The retreat houses a restaurant that serves authentic Sri Lankan-style meals. Alternatively, meals can be served in the room with the help of room service. The closest railway station is Paththampaha Sub Railway Station, which is 75 m away. If you feel like visiting the surroundings, check out Sri Dalada Maligawa and Kandy Museum, both located 17.6 km away.
