::I would name it Turtle torchery, not recomending anyone to go or not worth the price... the huge advertisement attract most people an go back home disappointed.ANIMAL WELFARE IS A BIG QUESTION..

::Definitely worth visiting. The manager took us (and all other visitors) through the whole running of the hatchery and we even got to come back see the release of the newborn turtles of the day at 5.30pm - purely magical. He’s working for a great cause, saving hundreds of baby and adult turtles every year and educating the local community and visitors. His dad started this hatchery and sadly died in the tsunami in 2004 with almost the entire family. He rebuilt everything from nothing. Truely an inspiring man.

::Around sunset, I don't know if they do this everyday (but you can ask), they release baby turtles into the sea. You can see this from behind the hatchery of you go directly to the beach. It's the main nice thing I liked about this place.

::Seems like a good cause, but really didn't seem well run. Not very much information and poor conditions for the turtles. There's some very basic information about the problems the turtles face, and a little more about what they do. The tanks are very small, not that it seems to matter as when I went only two of the turtles were swimming, the rest were staring into the wall of the tank. The tanks are open, so the turtles get constant attention from the visitors. This seems harmless enough, although I saw a turtle get picked up out of the water for a photo. Worst of all I saw someone (I think a guide) push a still turtle to the bottom of the tank just so that it could entertain the visitors. The tanks didn't look clean, and one turtle was covered in algae where it was in such a small tank and so rarely moved. Lastly, as other reviewers have mentioned, more information about what they are doing and how much it helps would really go a long way.

::A fantastic facility! Considering the struggles this place (and family) went through, mostly due to the tsunami, they are doing some truly remarkable work. The 2 sons of the man who started it all are trying hard to change the public opinion of turtles and their eggs and are MORE than happy to talk to you about it. It is why they do what they do. Educate yourselves, folks. Don't just go for the photo opportunities. Real good is being done here.
