  this is one of the 18 shakthi peethas of goddess. it is situated in Trincomalee of Srilanka. After dvamsa of daksha's yaga shiva dancing anger with the body of sathi . All the universe is shaking and fearing about his anger. Then lord vishnu cut the body of sathi to calm down shiva. the parts of the body of goddess spread all over the country. the groin part of the goddess fall in Gokarna or trincomalee of Srilanka. This is one of the most visiting place to the people who visit Srilanka. nearest airport is Trincomalee is 14.2 km away for the temple. nearest railway station is trincomalee railway station just 3.4 km away from the temple. bus stand is just 1.8 km away from the temple. there are some other visiting places near to the temple. Koneswaram shiva temple (same temple), Rawan abyass.
