::Most scared place in Sri Lanka. Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha is kept here and people from all around the world come to here. Almost all the tourists who visit Kandy goes to temple of sacred tooth and it is the main attraction of Kandy. When you visit the temple do not forget to wear long trousers or skirts.
Supun Attanayake
::The most sacred place to all the Buddhists. This is the temple at which the sacred tooth of Lord Buddha is placed at. Please come to the place with a decent attire, preferably a light colour with decent body covering. Parking is available near the property. Parking at the Kandy City Centre car park is the best, since the temple is at a close proximity to the car park. A walk around the lake is a thing not to be missed. Please avoid bringing any non degradable matter to the temple premises. Littering near the place is prohibited. FYI this is a high security area, so act politely and wisely.

::One of the most sacred and historical places in Sri Lanka with a lot of tourist and local attraction. A must to visit place for anyone who's vising the country by expecting to seek Buddhist culture and heritage.

::The temple was a lovely place to visit. There is a nice museum attached to it with all the history of the place. It has all the descriptions in English as well as the local language. Some points to note: You cannot wear leggings or short pants or sleeveless clothing. The template is open from 5.30am - 8pm. Puja is from 5.30 am - 6.45 am. If you want to see the place the sacred tooth is kept it is only opened for the ceremony with drums at 9.30am - 11.30am & 6.30pm - 8pm. It drums get a bit pound and noisy but it is a good experience. Puja timings get crowded on special occasions. The museum is open from 7.30am - 6pm Some places inside you can look but can’t take photos. There are clear signs in English letting you know where you can’t take photos
