  This is a Traditional Buddhist Temple and a good example for a collection of cultural Buddhist icons in Sri Lanka. There is a large Bodhi tree nicely decorated with a golden coloured metal fence. There are 28 Buddhas' statues around the Bodhi tree and a pure white marble Buddha's statue. And inside the temple there is a range of traditional Buddhist wall graffiti and a beautiful Makara Mukha (Decorated Makara's Front view), and two Devalas which are dedicated in order to the worship of Goddess Pattini and God Vishnu and a small scaled stupa (Shrine). The temple is also home to a small library in which some of ancient Buddhist texts including the Thri-pitaka are found. But permissions in advance are needed to get this library.
