  The temple is built on a beautiful western slope of hill called Weniyarakanda by the side of Baddegama - Elpitiya Road. Enjoy the Climb of Hundreds of Stone Steps and find a number of manual stone carvings being created by 4 to 5 craftsmen in progress at present. Visit Beautiful and Spacious Dharmashalava resurrected during 2007-12 after nearly 100 years, at Sri Sumanaramaya Temple (since 1913 A.D.), Weniyarawela, Baddegama, The 2nd tier of the roof, standing above the 1st is supported by tall cylindrical stems of 10 jack trees (please see picture). The Temple, on February 25, 2018, opened a square Granite Retension Wall (Bodhi Prakaraya - බෝධි ප්‍රාකාරය) around the sacred Bodhi Tree. The Wall consists of a few granite engravings, and paintings with a beautiful Golden Fence (රන් වැට) along the top of it. The Temple has almost completed a tall granite Bell Tower. Several other granite engravings such as Foot Print of Lord Buddha (ශ්‍රී පාදය), 12 month lamp (දොළොස් මහේ පහන), Sandakada Pahana (සඳකඩ පහන) etc. are being constructed at present all with granite engravings.
