  The kukiyapitiya technical collge has been a center for vocational edcation for the young school leavers in the kurungala district. Students attend here to get the technical hands on training with a certification from many places. Most of the students who are unnable to meeti satisfactory grade levels to sit for the advanxed level exams or university entrance, consider choosing to learn an hands on skill and follow it up as a career. The technical collge has courses from mechanical, electrical to cosmetics and bakey and many other options. Students who get the NVQ certification has the opportunity to work ina reputed organization or contenue learning advancing there qualifications or chosing a career paths as an entrepreneur.
