  Dont ever go to this shit crappy hotel. They fool people in the name of tax. For a food item worth 650 i ended up paying 1200 in the name of various taxes. The manager told me that in the menu that just add the food price and tax is counted separately. Never have i experienced such a situation in Srilanka. The food is very normal with the chicken pieces in the biriyani very small and cold... I would rate this restaurant as a disgrace to entire srilanka.

  Few of my colleagues and myself went around Slave Island looking for a spot to have lunch after we found out our previously selected place was too crowded. While walking past the Hotel Nippon we saw a small black chalk board advertising lunch buffet. It was The Bamboo Room which is one of the restaurants of the Hotel Nippon. Though we have walk passed it numerous times we have never tried it so we decided to go in. The first impression was kind of wow! Inside is neatly arranged and the buffet also neatly laid out. The manager was prompt on our inquiries on ala carte menu and we finally decide to try the buffet. It was Sri Lankan style but also included a soup and desserts. The soup was tasty which was sweet corn and chicken with vegetables. The main course included steamed rice ( white and red) with five curries ( including chicken and fish), two salads and lots of condiments. The dessert included caramel pudding and fresh fruits. Everything was tasty and there was nothing to complain about in the food. The service offered by the staff is very good and they are prompt. The place is also very quiet though it's near a very busy road and has a great ambiance. We were really satisfied with experience and will return.

  Hotel Nippon pastry shop offers the best beef and mutton roll in Colombo at Price of Rs. 120 and Rs. 140. Price is somewhat high but you can never ever compromise that quality of Food.
