  This is a historical place for Sri Lankan Catholics as well as other people. When Japanese thretened Sri Lanka during the holocaust. Then Cardinal, Mary Masson came here and prayed to our lady and offered to build A Basilica Church in her honour if the country survived.

  this happens to be one of the places I love the most
