  Founded in the year 1976, Welipatha Sath Budhu Maha Vehera (formerly known as Welipatha Sri Soratha Temple) is a very calm, serene Buddhist Temple. The newly built Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala memorial "Chaithyaya" was declared open on the 9th of December 2017 by the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe with the gracious presence of Venerable Panwila Sri Soratha Maha Nayaka Thero, Venerable Pelanwatthe Sobhitha Thero and other distinguished Theros and Guests.
