  Lovely diving centre with some nice local dives. I came her 3 times (for 6 dives in total) during my trip. Really friendly staff and very reasonably priced (prices are on their website). Boats are small so you'll return to base between dives for refreshments (tea / coffee and fruit and the usual great Sri Lankan hospitality). We saw turtles swimming where we launched the boats :-). Dispa Rock and Pala Pana Rock were my two favourite dive sites. Yala Rock seems to be the house favourite, but that's OK - it's really nice too. Sadly we didn't see any Whale Sharks or Manta's which are occasionally spotted, but there's plenty of other life to see.

  Open Water Course with Victor My wife an I joined an open water course. Before we did so, we took the opportunity to do a test dive to see if we are able to dive at all - equalization was in the past a problem for my wife, so we were extra carefully before making up our decision to join the course. And we learned it was a really good choice. The dive master Subul (I hope I wrote that right) was absolutely patient with us, to make us feel safe and comfortable - many thanks from our end again!!! Victor as our teacher is a perfect organized teacher who cares about his students in a really great way. He let us practice every possible situation under water that could cause trouble if you will not be able to do the right things. In addition he took the time to answer all questions patiently and the time every single course participant has required. We were trained in a perfect balance between theory, practical exercises and nice fun diving experiences. There is no doubt, we were more than lucky with Victor teaching us all open water basics!!! So we are now happy owner of the open water diving license. The diving school and it's owner, staff and family are also really friendly, we were provided with fresh fruits, food, coffee, tea and water all the time between the dives. The site is very well organized and professional and the prices are absolutely reasonable. The gear was not the newest but everything worked and that is what counts. Thank you very much to all of you at Weligama Bay Dive Center. We will never forget that great experience with you!

  Best diving shop in Sri Lanka. Truly there was nothing to dislike. Loved everything about this diving shop and would highly recommend it. Full package low prices as well. Each diving will quickly back to the diving center. They will prepare fruit. snacks coffee n hot tea (I saw the owner bring a small banana tree once >

  This dive center is so good. The owner Thaminda is so friendly and kind for us, he is also IDC staff instructor, experienced diver. His brother tried to sell whale snorkling. Sounds nice but a little bit expensive. They offer professional guide to lead and protect us. also promise to teach us some skills and tips to follow whale, to take the video and picture underwater. Maybe next time.

  Absolute joke...owner tries to sell us whale snorkeling with the whales at over $300 US per person per day...absolutely idiotic....they always ask where ur from so they can get the price they want. Even funnier they ask you what's ur budget for the dives? What dive shop does that? Stay away. 30 Minutes later I have a boat for the whole week in the water with blue whales and others for $100 US per person...BEWARE if ur not and a seasoned travel diver.
