::$ You will be staying at the owner’s place. ( if you would like to experience local household) The room is pretty huge. You need to bring your own toiletries though. The place is super close to the cave temple. It’s very close to the city too. (You shouldn’t pay more than 200 Rs for the Tuk Tuk ride) His brother took us for an all day tour for $42 (6500 Rs) Great deal I must say. We were only going to do Pidurangala hike (which is better and cheaper than the other popular one) and the Kaudulla Safari. He insisted that we should also check out Polonnaruwa as well and we did not disappoint. We were pretty tired at the end and he’s still suggesting more places to go check out. My point is you could stretch the day as long as you want. He’s just a nice guy. His brother, the owner, is so friendly. He gave us great suggestions regarding local places to eat. He gave us extra water and snacks. Great experience overall.

::Homely and basic accommodation made special by the proprietor who is friendly and helpful. He helped us organise trips to Sigiryia and Polonuruwa with good trishaw drivers, and made sure we got to the right bus for Colombo. Flexible breakfast time and our room included a/c which was a bonus we hadn't booked.
