  Ancient alms hall (මහාපාලි දාන ශාලාව) maintained by the royal treasury to offer alms for the bhikkus. There is a slab inscription alongside the main building. The rice trough used to store rice is still visible in the refectory premises.

  රජ්්‍ය භාණ්ඩාගාරයෙන් වියදම් කොට සංඝයාට දානය පිළියෙළ කර දුන් දාන ශාලාව මෙයයි. එක පෙළට විශාල භික්ෂු පිරිසක් දානය ගැනීමට එහි පැමිණි නිසා මහාපාළි යන නම ලැබී ඇත. මෙහි බත් ඹරුවක් ද දක්නට ඇත. ජලය ලබා ගත් ළිද ද මෙහි දක්නට ලැබේ.
