  This church was made by Rev. Fr. Pupily Silvester in 1918. It is among the largest three in Sri Lanka. There is a most miraculous statue of st. Joseph's which was unable to move from the church to Rome. Once a year that statue is going around the old village to bless people. The perahara starts from the church around 08:30 a m and come back to Church around 11:00 p m every year. Some people are walking all around with the Statue. It is marvelous the people get what they expect from St. Joseph. St. Joseph, pray for us!
